What To Expect
This Punta Cana Saona Island Speedboat and Catamaran excursion tour starts by picking you up from your hotel and driving you to Bayahibe. Then you will board a catamaran to the island. You’ll have a quick stop at Las Palmillas natural pool. Once you arrive on Isla Saona, you have so many choices—splash in the turquoise waters, drink up at the open bar, take a nap on a beach lounge chair or relax in the shade of the beautiful coconut trees, play volleyball, indulge in a typical Dominican lunch of chicken, pork, rice, beans, salad and fruit, or walk the coastline.
We’ll hit the Caribbean Sea on a speedboat and slowly cruise you back to the mainland. Oh, there’s also music, dancing, and an open bar. Enjoy convenient drop-off at your hotel once back on the island.

We had the Catamaran to the island and the rum was pouring and it’s like a dance party on the boat. The crowd was fun! We stop at a natural swimming pool and the water is the one of the clearest I have ever seen. We had a relaxing day on the island.

This trip worth it. The catamaran to get there takes over an hour but you get drinks, music, dancing, and beautiful views so who cares?!. The island itself has stunning waters. We stayed there for 3 hours and then they take you to the lagoon which is basically a natural swimming pool. And then we were taken back by a speed boat. The staff were game to have a speed boat with my friends. Had a good laugh at the end as the losers will pay for a round of drinks back at the hotel. Super fun!

The island and natural pool was a beautiful experience. We are happy we got to see it, however there are some things the tour companies could do better. The organization of who is going on what bus is a bit of a mess. At times it was stressful not knowing if we were in the right place as a lot of the drivers didn’t speak English. We were driven to a gas station from our hotel to then pack into a different bus with other people. I knew we were in good hands but it was a bit of a “shit show” with all the busses and people all over. Also when we got to bayahibe it was also a big mess. So many speed boats, catamarans and people lined up everywhere. If there’s a way to minimize the confusion and clusters of people you should consider doing that. It was fun going on the speed boat, which we actually did first. It was a bit difficult for some people to get on and off that boat, such as older people or people that aren’t as good with balance, but the crew helped us. Natural pool was beautiful. Our photographer in our group was very annoying with the pictures. Literally made us pose for at least 20 after I made it clear that I was done with it. We took the catamaran home after the island, which was a lot more comfortable and fun. The same man who took the pictures then bothered us about buying them more than 3 times. It was very frustrating. No means no and he wouldn’t stop. It would be best if they would be a little more respectful with our decision to not buy things. Overall very fun and beautiful day, but organization and the attitude of some staff could be improved on.

We had a group of 11 guys who were treated like rockstars on this charter but there was only one true entertainer and that was Orlando. If you want to experience Saona and the surrounding beauty of crystal clear water on a full day excursion, look no further than Yay. Orlando’s speed boat was stocked with plenty of top shelf drinks for our group and two deck hands that made sure we were never empty. To top it off we had a buffet spread on the beach that was the best meal of our entire trip! If you want to have fun, enjoy the beautiful water, explore and learn about the local culture, you can’t go wrong with Orlando and Yay! I’m taking my wife back in a few months and look forward to an excursion day my new friend.
